AUN-QA Overview: The 305th and 307th AUN-QA Programme Assessments Conducted at Two Prestigious Universities of Viet Nam

305th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE)

  • The 305th AUN-QA Programme Assessment and site visit was held at HCMUTE, Viet Nam, from 29 November - 1 December 2022. Four study programmes were assessed, namely:
  1. Accounting
  2. Chemical Engineering Technology
  3. Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
  4. Biomedical Engineering
  • HCMUTE is under the Ministry of Education and Training
  • Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) is a public university established on 5 October 1962. HCMUTE is a prestigious university with long-standing traditions which is playing a pivotal role in the development of technical education schools across the country. The university has been pioneering the fully autonomous mechanism piloting by the Ministry of Education and Training since June 2017, turning itself into an applied and multidisciplinary university that offers training programs for bachelor, master, and doctorate degrees in both engineering and non-engineering majors. HCMUTE has annually received investment capital and support from both Vietnamese and foreign governments as well as international organizations from the USA, USSR, Germany, Japan, etc. These financial sources have been effectively spent on infrastructure facilities, curriculum development, teaching methodologies innovation, and so on.
  • This was HCMUTE’s 6th Programme Assessment and their 6th site visit Programme Assessment with AUN-QA.

307th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Dalat University (DLU)

  • The 307th AUN-QA Programme Assessment (online/remote site visit) was held at DLU, Viet Nam from 28 November - 2 December 2022. Three study programmes were assessed, namely:
  1. Bachelor of Business Administration
  2. Bachelor of Engineering in Agronomy
  3. Bachelor of Biotechnology
  • DLU is under the Ministry of Education and Training of Viet Nam
  • The university was established in 1957 by the Catholic Council of Vietnam as "Da Lat University College". This was then the most important center of education in the West. After the liberation of Saigon on 30 April 1975, the College of Da Lat was renamed Da Lat University by the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. DLU is currently ranked as one of the top 25 universities of Viet Nam and provides 16 faculties for over 10,000 students.
  • This was DLU’s 1st Programme Assessment and their 1st online/remote site visit Programme Assessment with AUN-QA.
