AUN-UIE Held its Annual Meeting 2022

On 2 December 2022, the ASEAN University Network (AUN) in collaboration with Chulalongkorn University and CU Innovation Hub held the 3rd AUN-University Innovation and Enterprise (AUN-UIE) Annual Meeting via Zoom. Member Universities discussed the theme surrounding “Roles of Higher Education Institutes in Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Ways Forward”, this is notably the first AUN-UIE annual meeting after a 3-year pause due to the global pandemic. 

The meeting commenced with the welcome remark by Prof. Dr. Bundhit Eua-arporn, President of Chulalongkorn University on the challenges that the world faced during the last few years and the endeavour that every country made to adapt to the new normal. Prof. Bundhit also appreciated the unremitting efforts of AUN-UIE Member Universities during the pandemic and highlighted that innovation and entrepreneurship will be essential in the post-pandemic world in the future. The welcome remark was followed by the opening remark of Dr Choltis Dhirathiti, Executive Director of ASEAN University Network, pinpointing on the importance of the University Innovation and Enterprise and how it can drive ASEAN community forward.

13 universities have joined the online conference and share the updates of their latest progress of Innovation and Entrepreneurship including Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Universitas Airlangga, Universiti Malaya, University of Yangon, University of Mandalay, De La Salle University, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, Burapha University, Chiang Mai University, Prince of Songkla University and Chulalongkorn University.

The meeting continued with the activities report and updates by the AUN-UIE Member Universities, followed by the discussion on the future plan and collaboration within the network. The success of the meeting proves once again the innovative capacity of enterprises and networks, and its bright new chapters in the post-pandemic era.
