University of the Immaculate Conception traces its history back to the Congregation of the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) in 1905. The university started humbly with three sisters of the Congregation catechizing children in Davao. Now, 118 years have passed, and the university is now offering a wide range of educational services to its community, from K-12 Education to tertiary education in science, technology, arts, humanities, business, and teacher education. More than 20 undergraduate degree programmes and more than ten graduate degree programmes are now offered through its ten colleges and three campuses.

With its vision of becoming a globally recognised Catholic university that nurtures faith and passion for excellence, University of the Immaculate Conception has been vigorous in assuring and standardising the quality of its education through accreditation. Its institutional accreditation was recently renewed in 2020 by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) through PAASCU (Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities).   It also received ISO 9001:2015 from TUV Rhineland for Design and Development, Delivery of Educational Services including Basic Education (K-12), Higher Education, and Technical – Vocational Training and Assessment.
