AUN-QA Overview: 365th, 366th, 367th Programme Assessments

In this week’s AUN-QA Programme Assessment (PA) coverage, the team has conducted 3 PAs with a total of 8 programmes assessed throughout the tail-end of November and the first week of December. Below are the respective details on the 365th, 366th, and 367th at De La Salle University, Royal University of Phnom Penh, and Lyceum of the Philippines University - Batangas, Inc.

365th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at De La Salle University (DLSU)

  • The 365th AUN-QA Programme Assessment was held onsite at DLSU, The Philippines, from 28 - 30 November, 2023. Three study programmes were assessed, namely:
  1. Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
  2. Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering
  3. Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Sciences major in Organizational and Social Systems Development
  • DLSU is under the Ministry of Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of The Philippines.

  • De La Salle University is a private non-profit higher education institution established in 1911 by the Catholic order Brothers of the Christian Schools (FSC). Its student population comprises about 12,000 undergraduates and 5,000 postgraduates distributed across seven colleges (Business, Computer Studies, Education, Engineering, Liberal Arts, Science, Law) and one school (Economics). DLSU employs about 1,300 academic staff with a full-time equivalent of 895. It is governed by an independent Board of Trustees and managed by a Central Administration. Today, the University offers 76 baccalaureate programmes, together with 132 programmes in the graduate school.

  • In 2020, DLSU was the top-ranked PH university in the Times Higher Education Subject Rankings for Business and Economics, Engineering and Technology, Computer Science, and Physical Sciences; and joint-top in Social Sciences.

  • This was DLSU’s 10th Programme Assessment and their 10th onsite Programme Assessment with AUN-QA.

366th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP)

  • The 366th AUN-QA Programme Assessment was held onsite at RUPP, Cambodia, from 29 November - 1 December, 2023. One study programme was assessed, namely:
  1. Bachelor Programme of International Relations (IR)
  • RUPP is under the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia.
  • Seven years after Cambodia got independence from France on 9 November 1953, the first modern Cambodian National University was established on January 13, 1960, under the leadership of the late King Norodom Sihanouk. It was the "University of Royal Khmer", later known by many different names before its present-"The Royal University of Phnom Penh -RUPP '' since 1996. Today, RUPP is the oldest and largest public university in Cambodia, which provides degrees to both undergraduates and postgraduates in many areas including Science, Social Sciences and Humanities, Development Studies, Engineering, Education, International Studies and Public Policy, and Foreign Languages.
  • This was RUPP’s 1st Programme Assessment and their 1st onsite Programme Assessment with AUN-QA.

367th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Lyceum of the Philippines University - Batangas, Inc. (LPU-B)

  • The 367th AUN-QA Programme Assessment was held onsite at LPU-B, The Philippines, from 5 - 7 December, 2023. Four study programmes were assessed, namely:
  1. Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management
  2. Bachelor of Science in International Travel and Tourism Management
  3. Bachelor of Science in Customs Administration
  4. Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering
  • LPU-B is under the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) of the Philippines. 

  • Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas (LPU-B), a private tertiary educational institution was established in 1966 by the late Senator, Dr. Sotero H. Laurel. This institution formally received its Autonomous status from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in 2019, the highest recognition being awarded to few tertiary educational institutions in the country.

    LPU-B has been given the Global Performance Excellence Award – World Class Award by the Asia Pacific Quality Organization in 2017, recognized as the Philippines’ First Private Non-Sectarian QS Stars Rated University in 2016; and received the Philippine Quality Award as Recognition for its Proficiency in Quality Management in 2015.

    CHED awarded LPU-B as the Center of Excellence for Medical Laboratory Science and Center of Development for Business Administration. Both programs together with Nursing and Maritime Transportation programs were also awarded by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation with Level 4 Accreditation status.

  • This was LPU-B’s 2nd Programme Assessment and their 1st onsite Programme Assessment with AUN-QA.
