Starting November with a Viet Nam-centric AUN-QA Overview: 353rd, 358th, 360th, and 361st Programme Assessments

AUN-QA started November 2023 with 4 Programme Assessments (PA) for a total of 14 Programmes with Universities all located in Viet Nam! This week, the overview will cover 1.) 353rd PA at Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH), 2.) 358th PA at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), 3.) 360th PA at The University of Danang (UD), and 4.) 361st PA at Thai Nguyen University (TNU). 353rd AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH)

  • The 353rd AUN-QA Programme Assessment was held onsite at IUH, Viet Nam, from 30 October - 1 November, 2023. Four study programmes were assessed, namely:
  1. Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Electronics Engineering Technology (EEET)
  2. Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Technology (ETET)
  3. Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering (CE)
  4. Bachelor of Environmental Engineering Technology (EET)
  • IUH is under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) of Viet Nam
  • As an educational body paving its path toward excellence, formerly founded as Go Vap Vocational School by Don Bosco priests on November 11, 1956, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) has made remarkable improvements and considerable transformations in all of its aspects. It was officially recognized as Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2004 by the Prime Minister, the university has significantly developed to become one of the biggest educational and training institutions in Vietnam. Valuable long-time experience in vocational training has also advantaged the university to grow in the application orientation. It can be misleading to connect the school’s name with the training programmes it provides because besides those in the fields of engineering and technology, the university has managed to diversify its training to cater for the society’s needs of human resource in economic and social areas.

358th AUN-QA Programme Re-assessment at Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU)

  • The 358th AUN-QA Programme Re-assessment was held onsite at VNU, Viet Nam, from 31 October - 2 November, 2023. Four study programmes were assessed, namely:
  1. Bachelor in Sociology
  2. Bachelor in Psychology
  3. Bachelor in International Studies
  4. Bachelor in Nuclear Technology and Engineering
  • VNU is under the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) of Viet Nam
  • Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) is one of two national universities in Vietnam. VNU has undergone various stages of development: the University of Indochina established on 16 May, 1906; Vietnam National University (November, 1945); the University of Hanoi (June, 1956). In December 1993, VNU was reorganized on the basis of amalgamating the University of Hanoi and some other leading universities in Hanoi. VNU has 34 units, including: 8 member universities; 4 affiliated schools; 7 research institutes; 2 training and research centers, 13 service units. In 2020, VNU-University of Medicine and Pharmacy was established and in the same year recruited 10585 freshmen for 133 undergraduate majors, of which, 15 programs were newly opened.
  • This was VNU’s 19th Programme Assessment with AUN-QA and their 16th onsite Programme Assessment with AUN-QA.

360th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at The University of Danang (UD)

  • The 360th AUN-QA Programme Assessment was held onsite at UD, Viet Nam, from 7 - 9 November, 2023. Four study programmes were assessed, namely:
  1. Bachelor of Commerce
  2. Bachelor of Economics
  3. Bachelor of Human Resource Management
  4. Bachelor of Management Information System 
  • UD is under the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) of Viet Nam
  • Established in 1994, the University of Danang (UD) is now a national key university. UD is a multi-disciplinary university with 6 member universities and 7 affiliated training units. As of November 2021, the UD has totally 31 accredited educational programs by national and international accreditation organizations, in which 28 programs accredited internationally. UD’s impact extends well beyond its campuses through the extensive cooperation of more than 300 universities and research and educational partnerships in the world. Over recent years, UD has always been ranked amongst Vietnam’s top ten universities; especially two consecutive years (2020 & 2021) in the top 401-450 Asian best universities ranked by the QS. With the mission and great responsibility trusted by the Government and the Ministry of Education and Training, UD has been continuing to affirm its international quality and prestige making an important contribution to the process of internationalization and innovation in the national higher education.
  • This was UD’s 11th Programme Assessment and their 7th onsite Programme Assessment with AUN-QA.

361st AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Thai Nguyen University (TNU)

  • The 361st AUN-QA Programme Assessment was held onsite at TNU, Viet Nam, from 7 - 9 November, 2023. Two study programmes were assessed, namely:
  1. Bachelor of Pharmacy
  2. Doctor of Preventive Medicine
  • TNU is under the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) of Viet Nam
  • TNU is a public regional university established on April 4th, 1994 by re-organizing and merging 4 local universities and 1 vocational school in Thai Nguyen Province. At present, TNU has eleven university/school members: University of Education, University of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Economics and Business Administration, University of Technology, University of Sciences, University of Information and Communication Technology, Thai Nguyen College of Economics and Techniques, Thai Nguyen School of Foreign Languages, TNU’s International School and TNU’s Branch in Lao Cai Province. TNU is a regional university providing multi-disciplinary training, scientific research and advanced technology transfer, which contributes to the socio-economic, and cultural development of the Midlands, Northern Mountainous Region, and the whole country.
  • This was TNU’s 7th Programme Assessment and their 3rd onsite Programme Assessment with AUN-QA.
