The AUN/SEED-Net Secretariat attended The Meeting on International Collaborative Network for Development of Future Students & The 2nd Multi-International Workshop for Engineering Students. The event was hosted by the Faculty of Engineering, Kasetsart University, in association with partner universities in France, Japan, the Philippines, and Taiwan on March 1, 2024.

The attendees included the Ministry of Higher Education, Science Research, and Innovation (MHESI), foreign embassies of the said countries in Thailand, faculty staff, and students from institutions across Japan including Keio University, Shizuoka University, and Osaka Sangyo University, as well as ECAM LaSalle (France), De La Salle University Manila (Philippines), National Tsing Hua University (Taiwan), and Thailand’s Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics & Orthotics (SSPO) of Mahidol University. During the event, AUN/SEED-Net delivered congratulatory remarks at the certificate handover ceremony.

AUN/SEED-Net spread its "SEED" of collaboration as this event originated from the AUN/SEED-Net research grant called Special Program for Research against COVID-19 (SPRAC) in 2020. The grant was awarded to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weerachai Chaiworapuek, who is a Mechanical Engineering professor at Kasetsart University with the research project, titled "Negative Pressure Room for COVID-19 Detection," aimed to create a negative pressure room to detect COVID-19. Building upon the research outcomes and networks cultivated during the time at SPRAC, it has led to further collaborations.

The results of this event have strengthened the collaboration between ASEAN, Japan, and beyond. AUN/SEED-Net was delighted to witness the spread of the “SEED” of cooperation and hopes that it will lead to various forms of collaboration in the future.
