AUSN student leaders convened to summarise their achievements in AUSN Annual Meeting 2/2021

The ASEAN University Student Network (AUSN) successfully held the AUSN Annual Meeting 2/2021 on 30 April 2022 at 8.00 – 10.00 AM (GMT+7) via Zoom. The annual meeting served as a platform engineered for AUSN student members and non-members to convene and discuss key results and achievements from projects the network organised over the year.

Mental Health Struggles and Experiences: How do ASEAN university students cope in the virtual setting?

While many Southeast Asian countries are reopening borders and resuming in-person and on-site activities, the two-year hiatus full of home isolation, quarantines and social distancing caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has left several long-term effects on ASEAN society and the well-being of its citizens, including pervasive mental health problems among the region’s populace. In the area of higher education, several issues emerged in terms of how students and educators have been coping while also maintaining productivity and performance under such circumstances. It is important for us to look into the gravity of the situation and the efforts to combat such a crisis thus far by institutions, organisations and governments in the Southeast Asian region.

The AUN Executive Director's Keynote Speech at USTMAM Encourages the Importance of Regional Cooperation for the Development of ASEAN Region

Dr. Choltis Dhirathiti, AUN Executive Director, delivered his keynote speech at the University of Santo Tomas Model ASEAN Meeting (UST Model ASEAN Meeting) under the theme of “ONE ASEAN, ONE HEALTH: Overcoming COVID-19 Adversities through Regional Cooperation and Development”. The UST Model ASEAN Meeting was conducted by the UST Asian Studies Major on February 3rd-5th 2022 via Zoom Meeting Conference with the aim to improve the public awareness of ASEAN and its relevance to the community. Dr. Choltis put emphasis on the challenges faced by the education sector during the COVID-19 pandemic and the importance of regional cooperation to push forward the development in the ASEAN region. He also laid the AUN’s concern for students to have the capacity to learn and be proactive with a strong sense of global citizenship.
