AUN-QA Overview: Going for 10 and On-site First Timers, The 331st, 332nd, and 333rd AUN-QA PA

The AUN-QA team has got a bit of an extended overview covering 3 weeks in June 2023 going over the 331^st, 332^nd, and 333^rd programme assessments. So far it has been quite the month of milestones! The University of Danang conducted their 10th programme assessment with AUN-QA, along with Prince of Songkla University and Thai Nguyen University having their first on-site visit programme assessments! Now, all PAs are significant steps forward for university programmes, but milestones like these sure does make a PA all the more special! 331^st AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Prince of Songkla University (PSU)

• The 331^st AUN-QA Programme Assessment was held at PSU, Thailand, from 6 - 9 June, 2023, with the first time for an on-site visit assessment with AUN-QA as well! Four study programmes were assessed, namely:

1. Doctor of Philosophy Program in Biomedical Sciences
2. Doctor of Philosophy Program in Oral Health Sciences
3. Master of Arts Program in Applied English Language Studies
4. Master of Science Program in Functional Food and Nutrition

• PSU is under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation
• Prince of Songkla University (PSU) was established in 1967 as the first university in southern Thailand. The original aims of the university were to raise the general education standards and support regional industry and development. Today, PSU is a leading public university, committed to academic excellence, reputable research and innovation. It is one of the nine national research universities and among the top 10 comprehensive universities in Thailand by Quacquarelli Symonds’ ranking. The university is proud of its distinguished record of achievements in teaching, research, development, and services to the community. It has contributed significantly to the development of the country and consistently turned out well-qualified graduates of high-professional standing.
• This was PSU’s 3^rd Programme Assessment and their 1^st on-site visit Programme Assessment with AUN-QA.

332^nd AUN-QA Programme Assessment at The University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT)

• The 332^nd AUN-QA Programme Assessment with on-site visit was held at UD-DUT, Viet Nam, from 13 - 15 June, 2023. Four study programmes were assessed, namely:

1. Undergraduate Program in Thermal Engineering
2. Undergraduate Program in Environmental Engineering
3. Undergraduate Program in Chemical Engineering
4. Undergraduate Program in Biotechnology

• UD-DUT is under the Ministry of Education and Training
• Established in 1994, the University of Danang - University of Science and Technology (UD-DUT) is now a national key university. UD-DUT is a multi-disciplinary university with 6 member universities and 7 affiliated training units. As of November 2021, the UD-DUT has a total 31 accredited educational programs by national and international accreditation organizations, in which 28 programs are accredited internationally. UD-DUT’s impact extends well beyond its campuses through the extensive cooperation of more than 300 universities and research and educational partnerships in the world.
  Over recent years, UD-DUT has always been ranked amongst Viet Nam’s top ten universities; especially two consecutive years (2020 & 2021) in the top 401-450 Asian best universities ranked by the QS. • This was UD-DUT’s 10^th Programme Assessment and their 6^th onsite with AUN-QA.

333^rd AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Thai Nguyen University (TNU)

• The 333^rd AUN-QA Programme Assessment was held at TNU, Viet Nam, from 20 - 22 June, 2023, and also TNU’s first time to conduct this with an on-site visit with AUN-QA! Four study programmes were assessed, namely:

1. Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Technology
2. Office Administration Undergraduate Program
3. Marketing Management Program
4. Information Technology Program

• TNU is under the Ministry of Education and Training
• TNU is a public regional university established on April 4^th, 1994 by re-organizing and merging 4 local universities and 1 vocational school in Thai Nguyen Province. At present, TNU has eleven university/school members: University of Education, University of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Medicine and Pharmacy, University of Economics and Business Administration, University of Technology, University of Sciences, University of Information and Communication Technology, Thai Nguyen College of Economics and Techniques, Thai Nguyen School of Foreign Languages, TNU’s International School and TNU’s Branch in Lao Cai Province.
• TNU is a regional university providing multi-disciplinary training, scientific research and advanced technology transfer, which contributes to the socio-economic, and cultural development of the Midlands, Northern Mountainous Region, and the whole country.
• This was TNU’s 5^th Programme Assessment and their 1^st onsite with AUN-QA.
