AUN-QA Overview: 389th, 381st , and 425th Programme Assessments (PA): Wrapping Up May with 12 Study Programmes from 3 PAs

For the last two week’s of May 2024 the AUN-QA journeyed through the Philippines and Viet Nam to conduct 3 more programme assessments (PA), each conducting 4 study programmes for a total of 12 in various fields from Bachelors and Masters programmes. In the first of two weeks, the journey of the AUN-QA team started in the Philippines with the 389th PA at Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.). The second week followed through with the next two PAs in Viet Nam, which included the 381st PA at Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh (IUH) City and the 425th PA at Can Tho University (CTU).

  • First in the Philippines, throughout 21 - 23 May 2024, the 389th AUN-QA PA at T.I.P. conducted assessments for 4 Bachelor of Science programmes, with 2 at the Quezon City Campus and 2 at the Manila Campus.
  • Then in Viet Nam, during 27 - 29 May 2024, the 381st AUN-QA PA was conducted at IUH for 4 Masters study programmes of various fields.
  • Thirdly in Viet Nam, from 28 - 30 May 2024, the 425th AUN-QA PA at CTU conducted assessments for 3 Bachelor study programmes and 1 Master study programme from various fields.

389th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.)

University Overview:

The Technological Institute of the Philippines (T.I.P.) is one of the country’s premier technological, engineering, and computing higher educational institutions. Established in 1962 by Engr. 381th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH)

University Overview:

As an educational body paving its path toward excellence, formerly founded as Go Vap Vocational School by Don Bosco priests on November 11, 1956, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) has made remarkable improvements and considerable transformations in all of its aspects. It was officially recognized as Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City in 2004 by the Prime Minister, the university has significantly developed to become one of the biggest educational and training institutions in Vietnam. Valuable long-time experience in vocational training has also advantaged the university to grow in the application orientation. It can be misleading to connect the school’s name with the training programmes it provides because besides those in the fields of engineering and technology, the university has managed to diversify its training to cater for the society’s needs of human resource in economic and social areas. There are a total of 19 faculties.

425th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at Can Tho University (CTU)

University Overview:

Can Tho University was initially named as Can Tho Institute of Higher Learning at its establishment in 1966. Since 1975 it has been named as Can Tho University (CTU). CTU is the driving force having decisive influence on the development of the Mekong Delta region (MDR) of Vietnam. CTU is the national key university and known as the center of cultures, sciences and technologies of the MDR; ranked in the top 351-400 universities in Agriculture and Forestry in 2023; a member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN); received the JICA President Award in 2019; recognized to comply with the institutional accreditation standards of the Ministry of Education and Training in 2018. CTU currently offers 119 bachelor’s, 51 master’s and 21 doctoral training programmes to a total number of 44,046 students. The strongest majors belong to Agriculture, Aquaculture, Technology and Environment.
